Self-pay · every price published
Every price, published.
We do not bill insurance. Every visit has one exact price, listed below and paid at the visit. No contract, no surprise bill.
Billed separately
- Laboratory tests: billed by the lab, often covered by your insurance
- Prescriptions: filled at your pharmacy at its price
- Imaging, such as a bone density scan, when one is needed
- Missed appointments: $100 if you miss a visit or cancel with less than 48 hours' notice. You confirm this before booking.
Self-pay care is protected by the federal No Surprises Act: when you book, a written Good Faith Estimate is emailed within 1 business day. If a final bill exceeds that estimate by $400 or more, you can dispute it.
The fine print, out loud
What the membership is, and is not.
The membership buys access and convenience: same-week scheduling, direct messaging, refills handled between visits, and member rates. It never prepays medical care.
That is deliberate. Under California law, a subscription that includes medical services operates as a health plan, and Beyond My Menopause is a medical practice, not an insurer. The membership is not insurance and not a health plan. Every visit is billed separately at its published price, and you can cancel at any time.
Prescriptions go to your own pharmacy. Labs go to your usual lab, through your insurance when you have it. Nothing routes through us that does not need to.
Care is provided by Antoaneta Mueller, MD, FACOG, a board-certified OB-GYN practicing since 2007.
Questions
Asked before joining.
- Do you take my insurance?
- No. Visits are self-pay at the exact prices on this page, and we do not bill insurance. Labs ordered during your care can usually go through your insurance.
- Is the membership insurance?
- No. It is not insurance and not a health plan. It covers access and convenience; every visit is billed separately at the price on this page.
- Can I come without joining?
- Yes. The consultation and follow-ups are open to everyone at the same published prices. Membership adds same-week scheduling, direct messaging, refill coordination, and the $150 member rate on follow-ups.
- Can I use my HSA or FSA?
- Visit fees are generally eligible medical expenses. The membership fee itself usually is not. Check with your plan.
- Will insurance pay for the labs?
- Often, yes. Labs are ordered to your usual lab and billed through your insurance when you have it.
- How do I join?
- At or after your first visit: tell Dr. Mueller or the front desk, or call (310) 325-1198. Membership is $95 per month, starts the day you join, and renews monthly until you cancel.
- How do I cancel?
- One message or one call. It ends at the close of the month you paid for. No fee, no questions.
Start with the hour.
Join afterwards only if ongoing care makes sense. Membership is never required.
